Replace the magneto-ignition with electronic-ignition.
Problem was the thing is a pull-start. Ewww… Pretty much a weed wacker motor your gardener uses to clean up the garden. Got really impatient with the stock magneto-ignition system miss-firing or something. Just work? This is the electronic age for Godsake! Let’s put some smarts and get the thing to start the first time without working out my arms.
Prototyped the circuit and it WORKS!!!
Used:
- 11.1V Lipo battery
- Optoisolator
- IGBJT
- Generic ignition coil
- Function Generator
- Oscope
Need a way to sense the engine rotating. Used a hall-effect sensor. Potted it, mounted it and test it. WORKS!!!
